Tamil Nadu asserted its dominance at the Doubles National Squash Championship held in Chennai, with local talent securing top honours across multiple categories.
The event featured a stellar lineup of players backed by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT). Top performers included Joshna Chinappa, Pooja Arthi, Shameena Riaz, Abhay Singh, and Velavan Senthilkumar – all beneficiaries of SDAT’s Mission International Medal Scheme (MIMS), designed to groom medal contenders for the global stage.
Joining the elite were young guns Ananya and Meyyapan, who impressed with strong performances under SDAT’s Champions Development Scheme (CDS) – aimed at nurturing emerging sports talent across the state.

“This is a proud moment for Tamil Nadu squash. The structured support from SDAT is clearly creating champions at every level,” said an official from the Tamil Nadu Squash Rackets Association.
With this impressive showing on home soil, Tamil Nadu continues to cement its reputation as India’s squash powerhouse – a testament to sustained investment, elite coaching, and focused talent development.
