After two back to back losses MI has finally started its account this season. Now let’s look at how they made it happen
Trent Boult & Deepak Chahar finally had the opportunity to showcase their swing under the Wankhede Lights. And they did it amazingly well by getting rid of both the Dangerous openers in De Kock and Sunil Narine in just 2 overs. Mumbai Indians’s pace attack was too much for the KKR batting line up to handle. Raghuvanshi & Venkatesh Iyer got out to Hardik Pandya and Deepak Chahar respectively. Also we should talk about how the whole KKR middle order fell to debutant Ashwani Kumar. He came in and swept away the whole KKR Middle order. The variety he had is definitely a threat to the other teams moving forward. None were near to good in KKR. They lost all the 10 wickets for just 116 runs.
Chasing 117 in Wankhede was never a problem for The Paltans. Rohit and Ryan Rickelton started off well before Rohit got out in Russel’s delivery. Will Jacks came in and Gave a good company to Rickelton before getting out for just 16 runs in 17 balls.
Then came Suryakumar Yadav to do what he always does. Meanwhile Rickelton on the other hand scored his first IPL 50. MI reached the target in just 12.5 overs to go to 6th in the Table.
Though Rickelton’s half century was vital it was Ashwani’s 3-0-24-4 that caught the eyes of the audience.
