Punjab Kings vs Gujarat Titans
Two teams that made so many changes to their teams this season. Last season was nothing but a disappointing outing for both the teams. And both the teams expect to start the season off with a banger, and Punjab Kings did what they wanted to do. Let’s dive deep into the details of the game.
Punjab Kings
started with two uncapped players in Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh. Prabhsimran Singh who was vital in the later half of the previous season got out at 5. Priyansh Arya then made a solid partnership with the Captain Shreyas Iyer to score 47 of just 23 balls. Though he lost his partner Shreyas carried on doing what he is good at, that is smashing balls all over the field. While Shreyas was destroying the Gujarat bowlers, Punjab’s Middle order folded like a pack of cards. Then came Shashank Singh who joined hands with the skipper to smash the GT bowlers mercilessly all around the stadium. Shreyas who was rejected by KKR for god knows why Scored a whopping 97 of just 42 balls and Shashank Singh on the other hand scored a quick fire 44 of just 16 deliveries. By the end of the innings PBKS managed to score their second highest score in their history ie.243/5
Chasing down 244
in a T20 is never an easy job but also it is not an impossible task. To everyone’s surprise Sai Sudarsan started the innings instead of much anticipated Jos Butler. Sai Sudarsan did an amazing job in kick starting the case alongside the skipper Gill. This duo scored 61 runs in the power play to set a strong base for the chase before Gill got out in Maxwell’s delivery. Sudarsan then joined hands with Butler to continue the aggressive approach. They were on the upper hand until the 13th over when Sudarsan lost his wicket to Arshdeep Singh. Sherfane Rutherford who is known for going big struggled to get runs off the ball. Especially Vushak Vijayakumar’s deliveries were untouchable to Rutherford. By the end of the game they could only get about 232 runs.
PBKS started the new era with a win. Could this be their year?
