IPL 2025 INDIA In a deeply alarming development, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) was abruptly called off midway on Thursday night due to attack from Pakistan in various parts of India, triggering panic and chaos in Dharamsala.
The game, which had progressed into the 11th over of the first innings, was dramatically halted at around 9:30 PM IST when three floodlight towers at the HPCA Stadium shut down simultaneously, reportedly following an electronic interference or power grid disruption linked to the drone activity.

According to the official statement from the BCCI, the match was called off due to attack by pakistan on India at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:29 PM IST, during the 11th over of the first innings. Punjab Kings, who won the toss and elected to bat, were 122/1 after 10.1 overs when the power glitch disrupted the proceedings. While initial attempts were made to restore lighting and resume the match, the situation remained unresolved even after a 30-minute delay.
At 9:40 PM, officials from the BCCI and stadium authorities convened, and shortly after, the match was officially called off.

The disruption was especially disappointing given the electrifying start by PBKS openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, who stitched together a century stand. The young duo took the attack to the DC bowlers from the very first over, delighting the packed Dharamsala crowd.
Priyansh Arya, continuing his dream run this season, scored a sensational 70 off 34 deliveries, peppered with 8 fours and 4 sixes. His timing, aggression, and ability to find gaps had put the Delhi Capitals on the back foot.

🛑Emergency Evacuation and Arrangement
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in a huddle after the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was called off midway due to the cross-border tensions. The players and spectators were asked to evacuate the venue immediately and now the Indian cricket board has planned a special train to get the players, support staff and broadcast crew to safe zone.
“We are organising a special train from Una, which is not far from Dharamsala to bring everybody home safely. As of now, the match has been called off and the stadium has been evacuated. We will take a call on the tournament’s future depending on the situation tomorrow. As of now, players’ safety is utmost important,” says BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla.
